The SCD-3 mounts directly between any standard quick-release and your steering wheel—no intermediate shaft required. Under normal racing loads it’s 100 % solid: zero play, razor-sharp steering feel.
When a crash hits hard enough to destroy wrists:
1 Automatic Torque-Limited Protection
The instant torque exceeds a precisely calibrated threshold (just below wrist-breaking levels), the SCD-3 begins a controlled slip. All violent energy is absorbed by the device instead of your arms and shoulders. No fractures, no torn ligaments.
2 Fully Automatic Reset – No Extra Steps
Once the extreme force ends, the device stays in a safe high-drag state so you never let off the throttle and never lose steering control.
Once the race is under caution, or the race is over: To restore full torque capacity, simply keep turning the wheel firmly past the steering stops in either direction. A loud, unmistakable CLICK confirms the jaws have re-engaged at full strength. Takes one second, no tools, no thought—
