The SCD is a torque-limiting steering coupling device designed to help reduce the risk of wrist and upper extremity injuries during high-impact crashes. It is not guaranteed to prevent injury in all situations. Each SCD is individually calibrated and inscribed with its Peak Slip Force and Dynamic Force on the device itself and on the packaging. Performance depends on proper installation, correct alignment with the steering quick-release, vehicle setup, and impact forces beyond our control. By purchasing and using this product, you acknowledge and agree to the following: - You have read and understand the Installation Guide and all warnings provided with this product. - You have verified the inscribed Peak Slip Force and Dynamic Force values on the device you received. - Proper installation by a qualified person is required. This includes correct welding of the male and female components into the steering shaft and proper alignment with your quick-release hardware. - This device contains a dry-film lubricant applied during manufacturing. No re-lubrication or maintenance is required. - You will visually inspect the device after any significant impact or crash. - No device can eliminate all risk of injury. You assume all risks and liabilities associated with the use of this product. - To the maximum extent permitted by law, LaPlante Racing Products, its owners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use this product. - Tampering with, modifying, or disassembling this device voids all warranties and liability. - This product is sold “AS IS” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, except for any express limited warranty provided at time of sale.
